أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ …

Quran 44:37 is ayah 37 of Surah Ad-Dukhan (“The Smoke”), a Meccan surah of 59 ayahs. It is in Juz 25, on page 497 of the Madani Mushaf.

44:37

أَهُمْخَيْرٌأَمْقَوْمُتُبَّعٍوَٱلَّذِينَمِنقَبْلِهِمْ ۚأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۖإِنَّهُمْكَانُوا۟مُجْرِمِينَ٣٧

ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaʿin wa-alladhīna min qablihim ahlaknāhum innahum kānū muj'rimīna

Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.(37)
