Surah Al-Qalam, Ayah 17 (68:17)

ٱلْقَلَم

إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ

Quran 68:17 is ayah 17 of Surah Al-Qalam (“The Pen”), a Meccan surah of 52 ayahs. It is in Juz 29, on page 565 of the Madani Mushaf.

إِنَّابَلَوْنَٰهُمْكَمَابَلَوْنَآأَصْحَٰبَٱلْجَنَّةِإِذْأَقْسَمُوا۟لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَامُصْبِحِينَ١٧
innā balawnāhum kamā balawnā aṣḥāba l-janati idh aqsamū layaṣrimunnahā muṣ'biḥīna

Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning(17)

قَالُواْ سُبْحَـنَ رَبّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـلِمِينَ- فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـوَمُونَ- قَالُواْ يوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـغِينَ- عَسَى رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْراً مّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبّنَا رغِبُونَ- كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الاْخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ-
