Surah Ali 'Imran, Ayah 178 (3:178)

آلِ عِمْرَان

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى …

Quran 3:178 is ayah 178 of Surah Ali 'Imran (“Family of Imran”), a Medinan surah of 200 ayahs. It is in Juz 4, on page 73 of the Madani Mushaf.

3:178
وَلَايَحْسَبَنَّٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوٓا۟أَنَّمَانُمْلِىلَهُمْخَيْرٌلِّأَنفُسِهِمْ ۚإِنَّمَانُمْلِىلَهُمْلِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟إِثْمًا ۚوَلَهُمْعَذَابٌمُّهِينٌ١٧٨
walā yaḥsabanna alladhīna kafarū annamā num'lī lahum khayrun li-anfusihim innamā num'lī lahum liyazdādū ith'man walahum ʿadhābun muhīnun

And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment.(178)
