Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 31 (9:31)

ٱلتَّوْبَة

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ …

Quran 9:31 is ayah 31 of Surah At-Tawbah (“The Repentance”), a Medinan surah of 129 ayahs. It is in Juz 10, on page 191 of the Madani Mushaf.

9:31
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟أَحْبَارَهُمْوَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْأَرْبَابًامِّندُونِٱللَّهِوَٱلْمَسِيحَٱبْنَمَرْيَمَوَمَآأُمِرُوٓا۟إِلَّالِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟إِلَٰهًاوَٰحِدًا ۖلَّآإِلَٰهَإِلَّاهُوَ ۚسُبْحَٰنَهُۥعَمَّايُشْرِكُونَ٣١
ittakhadhū aḥbārahum waruh'bānahum arbāban min dūni l-lahi wal-masīḥa ib'na maryama wamā umirū illā liyaʿbudū ilāhan wāḥidan lā ilāha illā huwa sub'ḥānahu ʿammā yush'rikūna

They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allāh, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.(31)

  19. إِلَّاillāexcept
  20. هُوَ ۚhuwaHim
  21. سُبْحَٰنَهُۥsub'ḥānahuGlory be to Him
  22. عَمَّاʿammāfrom what
  23. يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
