ٱلتَّوْبَة

فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا …

Quran 9:77 is ayah 77 of Surah At-Tawbah (“The Repentance”), a Medinan surah of 129 ayahs. It is in Juz 10, on page 199 of the Madani Mushaf.

9:77
فَأَعْقَبَهُمْنِفَاقًافِىقُلُوبِهِمْإِلَىٰيَوْمِيَلْقَوْنَهُۥبِمَآأَخْلَفُوا۟ٱللَّهَمَاوَعَدُوهُوَبِمَاكَانُوا۟يَكْذِبُونَ٧٧
fa-aʿqabahum nifāqan fī qulūbihim ilā yawmi yalqawnahu bimā akhlafū l-laha mā waʿadūhu wabimā kānū yakdhibūna

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allāh in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.(77)
