Surah Fussilat, Ayah 17 (41:17)

فُصِّلَت

وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَٰعِقَةُ …

Quran 41:17 is ayah 17 of Surah Fussilat (“Explained in Detail”), a Meccan surah of 54 ayahs. It is in Juz 24, on page 478 of the Madani Mushaf.

41:17
وَأَمَّاثَمُودُفَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْفَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ٱلْعَمَىٰعَلَىٱلْهُدَىٰفَأَخَذَتْهُمْصَٰعِقَةُٱلْعَذَابِٱلْهُونِبِمَاكَانُوا۟يَكْسِبُونَ١٧
wa-ammā thamūdu fahadaynāhum fa-is'taḥabbū l-ʿamā ʿalā l-hudā fa-akhadhathum ṣāʿiqatu l-ʿadhābi l-hūni bimā kānū yaksibūna

And as for Thamūd, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.(17)
