Surah Ghafir, Ayah 35 (40:35)

غَافِر

ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ …

Quran 40:35 is ayah 35 of Surah Ghafir (“The Forgiver”), a Meccan surah of 85 ayahs. It is in Juz 24, on page 471 of the Madani Mushaf.

40:35
ٱلَّذِينَيُجَٰدِلُونَفِىٓءَايَٰتِٱللَّهِبِغَيْرِسُلْطَٰنٍأَتَىٰهُمْ ۖكَبُرَمَقْتًاعِندَٱللَّهِوَعِندَٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟ ۚكَذَٰلِكَيَطْبَعُٱللَّهُعَلَىٰكُلِّقَلْبِمُتَكَبِّرٍجَبَّارٍ٣٥
alladhīna yujādilūna fī āyāti l-lahi bighayri sul'ṭānin atāhum kabura maqtan ʿinda l-lahi waʿinda alladhīna āmanū kadhālika yaṭbaʿu l-lahu ʿalā kulli qalbi mutakabbirin jabbārin

Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without an authority having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allāh and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allāh seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant.(35)

  22. مُتَكَبِّرٍmutakabbirin(of) an arrogant
  23. جَبَّارٍjabbārintyrant
