Surah Ghafir, Ayah 74 (40:74)

غَافِر

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا بَل لَّمْ نَكُن نَّدْعُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ شَئًْا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ …

Quran 40:74 is ayah 74 of Surah Ghafir (“The Forgiver”), a Meccan surah of 85 ayahs. It is in Juz 24, on page 475 of the Madani Mushaf.

40:74
مِندُونِٱللَّهِ ۖقَالُوا۟ضَلُّوا۟عَنَّابَللَّمْنَكُننَّدْعُوا۟مِنقَبْلُشَئًْا ۚكَذَٰلِكَيُضِلُّٱللَّهُٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ٧٤
min dūni l-lahi qālū ḍallū ʿannā bal lam nakun nadʿū min qablu shayan kadhālika yuḍillu l-lahu l-kāfirīna

Other than Allāh?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything." Thus does Allāh put astray the disbelievers.(74)
