Surah Al-An'am, Ayah 88 (6:88)

ٱلْأَنْعَام

ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم …

Quran 6:88 is ayah 88 of Surah Al-An'am (“The Cattle”), a Meccan surah of 165 ayahs. It is in Juz 7, on page 138 of the Madani Mushaf.

ذَٰلِكَهُدَىٱللَّهِيَهْدِىبِهِۦمَنيَشَآءُمِنْعِبَادِهِۦ ۚوَلَوْأَشْرَكُوا۟لَحَبِطَعَنْهُممَّاكَانُوا۟يَعْمَلُونَ٨٨
dhālika hudā l-lahi yahdī bihi man yashāu min ʿibādihi walaw ashrakū laḥabiṭa ʿanhum mā kānū yaʿmalūna

That is the guidance of Allāh by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allāh, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.(88)
